In New Jersey, the Industrial Site Recovery Act (ISRA) requires
owners or operators of certain industrial and commercial
establishments who are planning to transfer ownership, to
substantially change operations, or to close a facility to notify
the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and
conduct an environmental assessment of the facility. New Jersey’s
recent adoption of the Site Remediation Reform Act makes a
thorough understanding of the requirements of the ISRA process even
more essential in successfully completing a property transaction.
ENVISION has experience in all phases of the ISRA process, including
the steps necessary to allow a property sale to be carried out in
compliance with ISRA. In some cases, approval of a Remedial Action
Workplan by the NJDEP is a pre-condition for closure or property
transfer.
ENVISION can help with the following ISRA issues:
ENVISION’s aim is to guide our clients’ transactions through the process without costly delays from not complying with regulatory requirements.
