Remedial Investigations/Feasibility Studies

Remedial investigations involve conducting an investigation to obtain data necessary to determine the source, the nature and the extent of contamination at a site; to establish or determine site clean-up criteria; to identify receptors; to determine which remedial alternatives are possible; and to set the stage for the selection of technologically feasible and cost effective remedial alternatives. A feasibility study focuses on the evaluation of the remedial alternatives identified in the remedial investigation to select the most appropriate remedy for a site.

ENVISION has practical experience with remedial strategies and understands that no one approach works best at all sites. Just because a technique is “innovative” does not mean it is always the best option for the site; or for our client. Thorough knowledge of old and new technologies, plus the understanding of client objectives and regulatory requirements are the keys to successful remediation.

We focus on cost effective results for our clients, the impact remediation activities will have on the property, and on clearly communicating expectations at each step of the process to ensure success. Our skill-set in performing cost effective remedial investigations and feasibility studies includes soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, and air emission impacts. Among the remedial technologies ENVISION has used recently are:

Phytoremediation
Oxygen Release Compound (ORC™)/ Hydrogen Release Compound (HRC™)
Augmented Bioremediation
Soil Excavation
In-Situ Soil Vapor Extraction (SVE)
Ex-Situ SVE
In-Situ Soil Flushing
Groundwater Pump-and-Treat
Passive and Active Free-Product Recovery
Institutional Controls (Deed Restrictions or Environmental Land Use Restrictions)
Engineering Controls for Soil and/or Groundwater
Monitored Natural Attenuation
Risk Assessment

ENVISION’s aim is to help our clients achieve cost effective and timely closure of remedial projects, while minimizing disruptions to client operations and future plans for a facility.
