Remediation

Many plants and manufacturing facilities with historical releases of materials used on a daily basis (i.e. oil, paints, solvents, etc.) may have recognized environmental concerns. Sometimes these concerns turn out to be significant and, as a result, must be characterized thoroughly. In many cases, soil and groundwater may have been impacted and it is necessary to perform some type of remediation.

ENVISION can help in many ways. If a client has a current need for remediation, we can address it and implement all the necessary requirements to address the situation. If a client has a historical concern that has been recently brought to their attention, we can help with an evaluation and recommendations. If a client is not satisfied with an existing remedial treatment system performance or wishes to obtain closure or no further action with the regulators, we can provide the experience and know-how to approach the agencies to satisfy all parties involved.

Our experience includes remediation of the following contaminants:

  • Gasoline and related volatile organic compounds (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, MTBE)
  • Solvents, including chlorinated solvents used in dry-cleaning, degreasing or other operations
  • Fuel oil, heating oil and waste oil
  • Hydraulic oil
  • Soluble oil and tramp oil releases
  • Smelting and metal-processing slag and ash (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and metals)
  • Historic fill
  • Construction debris
  • Pesticides
  • PCBs
  • Plating wastes

at the following types of facilities:

  • Large industrial facilities
  • Transportation facilities
  • Service stations
  • Small commercial or industrial facilities (drycleaners, machine shops, plating shops, printers)
  • Landfills
  • Residential properties
